Jun Okaniwa
Automotive systems engineer — turns customer requirements into system and logic designs, hands them to developers, and verifies what comes back.
Software System Designer at Bosch Japan combining automotive systems expertise with hands-on development of engineering data products. Designed and built a Python, PostgreSQL, and FastAPI investigation system that links customer requirements with software implementation data, then applied the workflow across four related automotive projects with human review.
Experience
Software System Designer
Bosch Japan · April 2024 – Present
- Designed an engineering investigation system around relational data and fixed SQL for traceable fact retrieval, with explicit tool contracts and LLM responsibilities limited to question routing and argument extraction.
- Served as the sole initial developer for Python parsers, PostgreSQL schemas and database generation, and a FastAPI backend; containerized and deployed the system on Azure resources provisioned by the platform team.
- Applied database and SQL-based investigation across four related automotive projects with human review. Comparison with a manual report for one project reproduced confirmed findings within the evaluated scope and identified an overlooked issue and an incorrect finding.
- Translate vehicle-level customer requirements into software change specifications, defining logic changes, signal interfaces, and cross-functional dependencies within an ASPICE-compliant process.
- Coordinate design reviews, validation, and defect investigation with development teams in Vietnam, an integration team in India, and stakeholders in Germany.
Software System Designer Intern
Bosch Japan · April 2023 – December 2023
- Served as the vehicle-domain counterpart to an AI team in Vietnam on an LSTM-based modeling project using vehicle-test time series.
- Analyzed signal semantics, computational dependencies, and operating conditions to propose model-input candidates and communicate domain constraints in English. The AI team implemented and trained the model.
